Introduction: This poem was inspired by Canon by Pachebel. It may help you read it more fluidly if you listen to the song while reading the poem.

In the Garden

As I step softly into

the garden this morning

The dew sparkling like diamonds

The sweet aroma is enchanting,

I waltz on the tips of my toes

And curtsy slowly to the roses

That begin blooming before me,

And like the old pale wooden swing

Are swaying in time in the breeze,

To the vibrant symphony of Spring.
