Tiny drops of stormy skies
Fall fast against my windowsill
A small smile falls into place
My fingers dance along
The chipped wood and paint
As though a piano
My mind lost in the melody
And the rhythm of a
Summer storm
This was written for @Dversepoets Poetry Prompt about weather
It was written while listening to Minuet I by Johann S. Bach. I encourage you to listen to the piece to understand the mood.
very nice
i love listening to Bach and his works often remind me of rain. what a great idea to match words with a particular song. this is such a lovely piece. i feel its rhythm.
Thank-you! ๐ I love writing about weather so this was my favorite challenge yet

This is lovely, I’ve read only two of your posts so far and I think that music means a lot to you …
It means the world to me. Thankyou for taking the time to read my work. Ironically, I mention the piano a lot. I don’t really play, it’s a dream to learn though and I can envision playing…and I listen to a lot of piano when writing as well so it definitely influences my writing. I do sing though.
How lovely Gretchen … you might like First Love on my blog, just key it into the search and it should pop up … you’ll see why ๐

Classical music and rain in summer are made for each other!
a celebration of rain =)
The music of the rain brings peace and images of other worlds. Lovely. I think the image of the rain as a piano in your mind is great!
Very nice overall metaphor here. k.
Love your fingers on the rainy windowsill like a piano, Gretchen! I’ll have to check out that piece. Thanks, too, for following me blog.
