An eager seed
Wrapped snugly
In hope / it wiggles
& crawls / through
tight dirt, growing
Stre-tch-ing
Pale green roots
a warm awakening
As soft light sinks
through small
Cracks in the
Dew soft earth
A peaceful feeling
Unwrapping those
petals so slowly
like bright yellow
Hands falling //
Peeling / backwards
Taking in its first
breath of Spring

i love this…spring always gives me much hope because of this too…i love nature…and i think it makes for great metaphors as well…love the concrete visuals of the awakening of that new life….
My favorite part when writing this was the idea of the petals falling back/ open like hands so the flower can see and breathe 🙂
smiles…i can understand why…happy tuesday

love the seed wiggling and crawling in hope…really beautiful images gretchen…i can smell the soft soil and feel spring’s breath…ahhh…can’t wait…
You have captured SO well here the work of the seed. I love those little sprouts that arrive first and enjoy watching that early growth SO much. It is such an ‘upper’ this time of the year when new life appears above ground after a long winter.
They still have such a long way to go though..
But then: I only planted my crocuses and tulips two weeks ago. Always half a year behind 🙂
A lovely, perfect piece for Spring!
unwrapping the petals, like unwrapping the secret of if he loves us
Where is the Food when mother is not?
Perfect… it was as though I was watching it… I just love spring and the hope that blooms. It always comes. = )
I see it with you. I really appreciate your perspective…so vivid. Beautiful take on Spring.
loved this
feel the gulping in of air as breakthrough comes
I have just been planting seeds for my garden, and you captured it all so well. I also love the metaphor, spring is the season of hope. Really lovely.
I want to be a seed…I do.
This is beautifully tender, Gretchen!!!
so beautiful Gretchen!
