Humble Pie

Sometimes I find that just when I think I’ve got it all figured out, I am the most confused I’ve ever been.

I honestly think that God is keeping me on my toes these days. How easy is it to forget to love others the way He calls us to? How easy is it to think we know what’s best? It’s too easy. Until I remember the cross.

And then I suddenly realized that real love may not cost a dime in our world. It’s not about being courteous, it’s not about being “nice” to others, it’s not even how often you attend church. It’s about loving God first before others. Suddenly, with that in mind, its much easier to forgive.

I was reminded today that I have so much to learn. I have so much to grow. Pride and hate are so rampant in this world, its so easy to forget why we are here.

Who knew growing up never actually stops? Well, that is, if we are paying attention.
