Double Entendres – A Poem

Your motive like gray
fell in between the lines
Your intentions, you say
were pure // but that
unraveled over time

I won and you lost?
Was this a game?
Consider the cost
I owned my share
of that shame &
I’ll carry that cross

The more you toyed
the more confused I felt
That the new voice –
you told me that I had found?
It wasn’t mine at all-

I had literally lost myself.

Aww that sounds sad. Maybe a game? I hate games.
